Before I get into how it went, I just want to say that the drive in was so hard. The only time I've ever been to that hospital was to confirm my m/c. Granted I already knew I'd had a mc (sac had passed), but it still is a bad association. I realized this on the drive in...and spent the rest of the drive repeating to myself that he's probably fine and this can have a different outcome than the last drive there.
Turns out the little stinker is fine! To quote the L&D nurse, "Wow, he's really nestled down in there". Pretty sure that's why I haven't felt him much at all the last coupld days. They hooked me up to monitors (I think it was an NST, not positive) to listen to his heartbeat and movements and I had to hit a button every time I felt him move (about 6 times during the 30 minute test...waaay more than I've felt him total for the past 2 days). His heartrate was fine, he was moving as much as normal (just so deep I could only hear it on their monitor)...he's fine. They did a quick u/s while I was there too. Was pretty hard to see anything as he's getting crammed in there, but there was definitely the heartbeat as well as some hand & foot movements. I still have to call and schedule the u/s to see how he's measuring with radiology, but I'm feeling 1,000 times better about things than I was this morning. Like I told the L&D doc, I'd rather come in and have it turn out to be nothing than not come in and regret it for the rest of my life.

I meant to comment on your original post, but it was too late by the time I got home. I wanted to let you know that you were basically reading my mind and that I was having the exact same issue- hadn't really felt him in about 2 days and was getting worried. Last night though I got so worried that I had a Coke before bed and sat there until I felt him move so that I didn't have to go to L &D. He only moved about twice, and the Coke kept me up until 2am. BUT I felt a lot more movement from 12-2am than I had in the last two days. So I think he's just being a stinker and only being active when I'm asleep. I know that you've been unpacking/moving/being super busy lately, (same here), so I wanted to tell you I bet he just waits until you go to sleep to move.
Sorry for the novel, but I'm so glad that L&D went well and that everything is okay. What did they mean by "he's really in there"?

I'd already tried the sugary drinks, switching positions...you name it. At best I'd get a little nudge out of it from him. Not enough that I'd feel better (still kind of felt like maybe it was a sign from him that things weren't fine that his movement changed so much).

I just downed a glass of OJ. I don't feel a thing from the kid. I know from the way he reacted to the apple juice they had me drink that he's wiggling though. Little stinker. He can hang out in there if he wants...just give me a good wallop now and then and we'll call it good.
