Repost from 3-6: My string bean baby : )

Ds had his 6 month follow-up today with the high-risk NICU clinic to see how he's progressed. Overall, I'm very excited with how far he's come! They assessed him at around the 5 month level overall for development, which is great for his adjusted age. Also, he started off VERY small: 3lb 3oz and 15.25in (1st percentile for adjusted age). He'll be 6 months on July 4th, and today he was 12lb 12oz and 25.25in long! Basically 10lbs and 10in! Amazing : ) His length is 17th percentile ACTUAL and 46th adjusted! Woohoo! However, he is a total wiggle worm and burns off so many cals from dancing all day long, so he's 8th percentile for weight adjusted and only 0.8th actual, lol. My string bean boy.

  • That's great!  How did your husband handle it?  Is he feeling any better about things since he had the appt?

No, he focused on the fact that even though ds is doing well, they still want us to see a geneticist just to rule anything out... To me, this is clearly something they are having us do just to cross the t's and dot the i's. I'm in a military system, so we don't pay for extra tests so they ALWAYS suggest them. Dh says he's going to pursue counseling, so I really hope he does. Thanks for asking!
