When do baby's eyelids un-fuse? (PIP)

So one of our u/s pics is a little creepy looking, it looks like his eye is open.  The tech said, look, there is the lens of the eye!  So are they open or did the u/s go through the thin skin of the eyelid?  Does that even make sense?  Thanks for the help!

  • Ahh, the alien shot.  They're probably closed, if you think about it, its shooting waves through your skin, so it would go through baby's skin too.

  • I don't think their eyes start to open until somewhere in the mid-20s week range.

  • It goes through their skin too, that's why they can measure all of the parts they need to measure. I don't think the eyes become unfused until around 24 weeks.
