i've started to compile a list of pregnancy-related costs as i've been doing my budgeting. i realize that pregnancy alone can be pretty expensive, not to mention all the costs incurred with actually having a child. of course, actually having a baby is PRICELESS, but it is interesting to know these things for budgeting purposes. here are some i could think of:
- prenatal vitamins
- pregnancy tests
- ovulation kit
- basal thermometer
- morning sickness "cures": vitamin b6, seabands, ginger, preggie pops, etc.
- craving-related foods
- organic food (dairy products, meat, etc).
- maternity clothes
- anti-stretch cream
- hospital co-pays
- opportunity costs related to reduced productivity
- pregnancy sleep pillow
- books and media
what else is there?
Re: list of pregnancy-related costs
This made me giggle. I think our water bill is probably ridiculous because of all the peeing.
Doppler!
I had to buy new facewash/toner and expensive sunblock...my Dr said no salicylic acid in my facewash
Prescriptions like zofran
I'm an hourly employee so when I had to take off a day for m/s and a day for bleeding it cost me... I'm sure there will be other days throughout my pregnancy too.
and after 82 days in the NICU, our little girl is home!
Don't forget the added toilet paper cost that goes with this water bill....I swear we go through sooooo much tp now!
Exactly! I also started buying those freshening wipes
