summer bucket list

Just curious what you're hoping to do before the end of summer; fun stuff and chores too.  I feel like I come up with stuff to add to mine daily

Re: summer bucket list

  • fun stuff:

survive swim class, roast marshmallows, finger paint outside, organize block party, visit the water front, go to the zoo in the evening, build a tent, walk to get the Bee every week, play at a sandy beach, play hookie from work, entertain outside more, bake on Sunday mornings

    chores:

paint and organize inside garage, paint closet doors in bedroom, refinish twin bed and bookshelf, power wash deck

  • Loading the player...
  • Way too much and not enough time!

We'll be on vacation in mid-July and we plan on taking DD on her first boat ride and to an aquarium in Alex Bay.

Take DD to the SYR zoo (and our local zoo once or twice!)

    Start/Finish the nursery

    Clean out the garage

    Finish landscaping project

DH also wants to tear down our deck and fence, but I think that might have to wait until next summer.

    DD1: 3/31/10 DD2: 9/7/11
  • I haven't really thought about it. But...

    • lots of trips to the river for dinner and ice cream at Mississippi Muds
    • weekly trips to the farmer's market
    • taking E on his first boat ride when we go to Sylvan Beach in a few weeks
    • going to the drive-in, both with Evan, and alone for date night
    • using the rotisserie that came w/ our grill, which we haven't even opened yet!
    • making homemade jam/jelly... maybe canning some other fruits/veggies
    • infusing some alcohol w/ fruit and making lots of fun cocktails!
    • fix the siding on the back of the house that is cracked (and has been for 3+ yrs)
    • wash all my windows outside
  • standards we have to do every year:

kenmore days (a little muddy but done)

italian fest (yes all 4 days- yum!)

(at least) one day at the erie co. fair- took a day off of work to avoid the weekend crowds

    new this year:

friday night at the zoo- they are open till 8:30 (i think) in July & Aug

    odds & ends

    block sale

    farmers market

    concerts concerts concerts

    our lady of peace (free)

    tea party (free)

    tragically hip (got tickets!)

foo fighters (in sept, got tickets!)

  • Chores:

Paint stair railings, finish sprinkler system, rip out bushes along front of house, replace with new landscaping, fix swingset (playhouse up high needs new railings), also finish some projects (like dig out root balls for a couple bushes).

    With the kids:

Berry picking (all kinds), apple/pumpkin picking towards fall, fireworks, swimming, visit some old friends that have kids too (that live a couple hours away), visit LI, go to the Cape, boating, probably some kind of summer camp program (again!).. there's more but I can't think of it off the top of my head

  • Good idea!  I think I will use this to keep track and add stuff to all summer!

Go to Seabreeze all 15 times that my season pass allows (10 of 15 done)

Strong Museum of Play on my rainy days off

    Campfire and smores

Local festivals (Chil-E fest, Monroe County Fair, Spencerport Canal Days)

Farmers markets on my saturdays off

Climber/slide set up and cleaned off in the backyard

Go around to different playgrounds in the area

    Local Spray Park

Decide on an activity for September - right now it is either soccer, dance, or gymnastics - She is signed up for Gymnastics!

Sesame Place - hopefully visit with college roomate while in PA

Run around outside in her boots and bathing suit on a hot rainy day

    Sister's wedding and bach party

    Stonybrook

    Letchworth

Lots of swimming, chalk, bubbles, sprinkler, and trike action right here at home

Finish going thru and organizing all of ellie's old clothes

Catch up on her baby book

Catch up on this year's photo book

Convince DH a kitchen for dd's 2nd bday is highly needed
