I'm genuinely curious...

How many different psychic readings have you bought so far and how much did they cost?

To what degree do you actually put stock in and/or believe the predictions?

If they have been wrong so far, how upset has it made you?

I did the Cheri22 reading last year for sh!ts & giggles. She was almost correct on my due date month(that ended in m/c)...

I didn't think much about it though. I have spent $10 on worse before.

I ordered one from Cherri for $10 just for fun. I didn't actually put stock in it, but thought it was cute to read. She was wrong about the conception and finding out month. It's possible she is still right for birth month. I'll be disappointed if I'm not pregnant by then, but my being disappointed wouldn't have anything to do with the reading.

I bought a reading from Cheri22. My husband thought it was so funny he bought me a sit down reading with a local pyschic. Cheri22 told me December. I won't know if she is wrong or not until I get KU since she didn't give a year, but 3 opportunities for her to be right have come and gone.

The real pyschic did a reading by reading playing cards. It was really interesting. She was pretty spot on in the verifiable stuff so far. She couldn't give an exact month because she said God doesn't work that way, but she did say it would happen this year, and that I would need medical intervention to make it happen. She said I would get some good news in May, not necessarily baby related and that is the month I got a raise at work. The other things that have come true so far:

- she said my husband would have shoulder troubles, which he is currently whining about

-she said we had a dog with a mean bark that has scared away burglars (we don't know for sure, but there were a rash of break ins in our neighborhood, and our dog sounds pretty darn mean)

-she said we would go to a second doctor after having doubts about our current one. We just went for a second opinion last month.

I don't really put any stock into the cheri22 reading, but the real psychic got me a little spooked with the things she knew and the things that so far have been right. If December comes and goes this year without a BFP I think I will be genuinely crushed.

I haven't ordered any and I don't plan on it either. I generally think of psychics as a hoax. As I said in the Jenny Renny post, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.". When predictions are correct, I tend to think the psychic got lucky. I mean, when they are guessing the month they have a one in twelve chance of guessing correctly and if they are doing a lot of "readings" they are bound to guess a few right.

I bought a Jenny reading on Monday for $10.....It's all for fun in my opinion. I'm sure if I didn't waste the $ on that I would have wasted the $ on junk food which would have ruined my diet Stick out tongue

To what degree do you actually put stock in and/or believe the predictions? I trust them more than my doctor and TCOYF combined.

If they have been wrong so far, how upset has it made you? I don't understand this question. Psychics are never wrong.

AHEM: contrary to what may have been posted on other boards, not everyone over here has actually done this. And I don't see how sending $10 with a hope and a prayer to an internet psychic is any worse than starting to pee on sticks on 6DPO. Or knocking back the POM twice a day (guilty!) because that'll help FOR SURE.

If that's what gets you through the night, go for it.

I got a Cheri22 back in December and she was close (off by 4 days on the BFP month, but that was my ectopic). I just got a JennyRenny, who said it would be this cycle (which, incidentally, might be an EDD of April which would match Cheri22 as well). I have spent $20 total. I won't lie, my hopes do go up the month that they say, but I know it's just for fun. But really, I think we are all grasping at straws to feel hopeful.

I did Cheri22, JennyRenny and Stormy.

Cheri22 said BFP for May and was correct.

JennyRenny says I will get a BFP at the end of this cycle.

Stormy said October and told me to relax... that was the only one that made me "upset" but it's all just for fun.

I always said I'd never get one.

But, I caved with Salt's BFP post. (She really should get a commission from Jenny Renny...)

It's funny because for some reason I've had a "good feeling" about June since I tossed my BCP in March. I have no idea why, I've just felt good about June right from the beginning. So then when my reading came back for this cycle, it just added to the excitment that I already had/have for this cycle.

I obviously don't know whether or not she's right yet, but my fingers are crossed! But, like I said to someone else, even if she's "right," it could easily be kind of like one of those self-fulfilling prophecies. As in, if I'm "supposed" to get KU this cycle, I might be extra dedicated to well-timed sex, using preseed, eating super healthy, exercising, drinking tons of water, etc. And having an extra "good" cycle, certainly can't hurt the regular odds.

all this phychic talk is really making me be intrested in it. And I am usually NOT a believer in KNOWING your future. I think KNOWING your future will make you alter certain situations because you were told they were supposed to happen. But IDK, I might try it for fun if I don't get a BFP soon... 1 yr mark is now only a mnth away.

I dont put any stock in their predictions and I think they are just for fun. I do enjoy hearing others stories about them.

I've had a couple palm readings for fun with girlfriends and at bachelorette parties. I bought a Jenny Renny reading because I figured, for 10 bucks, it's not bad for entertainment, that's 1 drink at a bar for me. I don't put any faith into those things, but I must say, the fact that Jenny said I'd get a BFP next cycle takes away a little bit of the sting that this cycle probably isn't the one for me.

I've had some interesting palm readings before, I think they throw out enough general stuff that there's always something that's bound to ring true. Once a palm reader told me I'd get swept off my feet by a tall, very rich guy with blond hair and blue eyes. A few monthes later I met my DH, who is none of those things. Oops :-)

I have never ordered an online psychic reading. I can pretty much assure you that I never will. I just feel like internet readings are a bit---impersonal. I do think if people believe in them, they can really change a person's attitude and make them more hopeful, which can be good. I personally don't believe in them.

In full disclosure, though, a friend MADE me go to a sit down reading a few years ago. At this point, we lived in a different state, and this woman knew NOTHING about my friend or I. It was UNREAL the things that this woman "knew" about us. My H was a musician, the youngest of 5, health problems in the family, etc. We weren't even CLOSE to wanting kids at the time, but the woman said that we have 2, one boy and one girl. She went on and on about the boy, about what a genius he is. He has the musical abilities of his father, but he is into the engineering aspect of the career...which leads me to believe she wasn't that impressed with the girl. haha. She said they might be twins, or born closely together, she couldn't tell which.

Like I said, I didn't believe in any of this stuff before the reading. But after--I have to say I was impressed. She knew things that were not just "oh this has got to be true for some people" they were specific and spot on. ALSO--11 months into this TTC journey, I find it comforting that at least ONE person on earth believes I'm ever going to conceive.

This exactly. But she was dead on with my bfp month but it ended in m/c. I also got a July date from her too so we will see how that goes.

OH DAMN! That sh!t's crazy! I have to say I am a total believer in psychics for many reasons (although there's clearly a bunch of fakes out there) so I really enjoyed reading this. I used to see a psychic religiously in HS with one of my friends lol I have considered going back recently.

I did a Cheri22 reading this winter just for sh!ts and giggles. It was $10. I put no stock in it whatsoever. She said February. I forgot that it would have been last cycle until the cycle was over. I wasn't upset any more than normal disappointment (I thought I might be a little). I'm pretty sure if I'm not KU by NEXT February I will be sad, though...
