My thermometer is a piece of crap!

I have a basic BBT thermometer from Walgreens.  I've been questioning it lately because it will give me the exact temp 2-3 days in a row.  I know that is probably not impossible, but its happened too many times to seem likely.  So, I'm now 17 DPO and my temp dropped today so I was sure AF was coming.  It is usually here without fail by 10 a.m. the day my temp drops.  But, still no AF.  I decided to take my temp around noon just to test it...came back at 97.6...same as this morning.  I'm usually right at 98.6 unless I'm sick.  So I tried it with DD's temple thermometer (it's not a BBT, just wanted to test it) and it was 98.3.  So I think my thermometer is a piece of crap.  Now I don't know if all or some of my temps on my chart are messed up.  And I was mentally prepared for AF, I don't need anything putting any questions in my mind right now! 

So the main point...anyone have a decent thermometer to recommend?

    I use the one from walmart and love it.

    I know that most ladies use the one from walmart and love it. I personally use the one from CVS and have never had an issue. It is nice, cause it remembers the last temp, the next time you turn it on. You just have to hold down the button while turning it on.

    Yes to this!  My only gripe is there is no backlight for it.  I just use my cell phone though and I have no issues.

    I had the one from Target and had the same thing happen. So don't get that one. I switched to the one from Walmart and so far I like it better. We shall see if it starts picking favorites.

    I have one from Meijer which is ok - but recently I purchased one from Target.  Like Rice said, it doesn't have a backlight - and I feel like when you hit the button to check the temp later on it goes away super fast... but it has been probably my most accurate thermom yet...

     Have you changed the battery? Maybe it is time?
