Maybe prego, Maybe not??

Ok so this is my first post and im not exactly sure on of the lingo on the boards, but me and my husband are TTC. I was suppose to start my period yesterday and didnt, but took a test the day before and it said "NOT PREGNANT" (i took the test cause i was to excited to wait a whole day to see if i started

) But since i still havent started im wondering now if it was a false negative? Im kinda scared to take another test cause normaly when i take one i will start within a hr of taking it. & Im really hoping im pregnant LOL. I havent skipped a period in 6 years. So im not exactly sure whats going on, any feed back would be very appreciated!

Sorry, but it's probably not a false negative. You probably just ovulated later than normal, and it caused your period to be delayed. Test once a week until your period arrives or you get a positive. (Also, "prego" is a spaghetti sauce. We generally stick with "pregnant" around here. Smile

First of all, false negatives are rare. You probably ovulated late so therefore your period is "late." Take a test once a week until AF, +hpt or CD60 (and then you'd need to call your dr).

The regulars on the board (and the lurkers like me) would tell you to test every other day (I think) and especially with your first morning urine. If you don't get your period or a positive in 60 days then you need to see your doctor.

Just because it's late doesn't mean you're skipping you're period. I'd wait a few days and then test again.

TAKE A TEST! It's the only way to know. Take a test once a week until you either get a BFP or AF shows up. After 60 days of neither call your Dr

There is no correlation between taking a test and starting your period.

Also, you say you haven't skipped a period in 6 years, did you just recently come off bcp?

The general rule here is to test once a week until you either get a positive test or until your period comes. If you get to 60 days with no period, call your doctor.

All the information that you need is in the newbie link. Always know that no matter how long you have been regular, it can always change. You may have just ovulated late.

You probably ovulated late and your period isn't actually late. Take a test every week and see your doctor if you period doesn't come by CD60.

If I'm reading your post right, you took a test 2 days before your missed period. So yes, there is a chance it was a false negative. I'd test again. But I'm also a test junkie.

They would say to test once a week, however what they would do in that situation might be a different story. With the POAS addicts around here, I have a feeling many would test every other day instead of once a week! Stick out tongue
