How long are you going to keep it up? AKA when are you going to wean? I am pumping three times a day at work, and once before bed. If I was a SAHM I would definitely breastfeed at least a year, because I truly love it. But the work of pumping when I have to travel for work and having to miss meetings and work later because pumping takes so much time out of my day... I just don't know how long I can keep it up. I'm going to try to make it to six months. But even that is going to wear me out. What are you going to do? Do you have a goal in mind? It doesn't help that I hate pumping.
Re: Ladies Who EP or Pump at Work
I've been pumping at work for 3 weeks now and my supply is ok. I somehow produce enough to keep up with her need while at daycare so far. The "how long can I really do this?" question has come up often in the past 3 weeks - I feel like all I do is pump at work (we have a mother's room in the building since I'm in a cube), but I remind myself of the benefits of it too. I was supplementing before I went to work...but now I have found that I don't need to anymore (or as much - at most 2 oz in a day...for awhile I was up to 8 oz of formula) so I do like that aspect....it's just a lot of work & I'd much rather be bf'ing than be attached to the pump.
Props to those that EP! It's no joke!

I've been pumping at work twice a day and have been able to get enough for the following day's bottles so far. It's a good thing, too, since he appears to be refusing the frozen milk
Initially my goal was to make it to 1 year but we'll see what happens. Pumping at work is a royal pain - I need to invest in one of those hands free bra things.
I'm pumping 3x while at work and it sucks! Luckily, I am able to get about 4-5oz more than what DS eats while at DC, so the supply is holding up OK. But it takes 20 minutes each time and doesn't feel good at all.
My goal is to make it to 6 months. If I can get it so that I only have to pump 2x or 1x while at work, I might go up to a year.

I have one and I love it! I don't use it every time if I'm in a rush between meetings but when I do - it helps me multi-task more!

I'm EP, and have met my first two goals (4 wks, 8wks) next is 3 months. I definetly want to try and go until at least 6 months but am taking it one day at a time. Also, I'm still trying to get him latched on, if that can happen, I have no doubt I'll make it to 6 months and maybe even a year. Pumping 7-8 times a day is a royal pain in the ass.
I go back to work on July 11th and am definetly afraid that pumping is going to take away the precious few hours I get to spend with Julian.
