We left on Friday around Noonish for Williamsburg. GPS said that it would take about 4 hours to get there. We didn't hit any traffic until we reached VA, and then we sat on 95 South for god knows how long. I was amazed that Annabelle did so well, it wasn't until we actually got back 10 minutes from Williamsburg did she want out. We sang lots of toddler songs and tried the make the best of it.
Onward to Monday morning, Sunday night Annabelle didn't sleep well, I even told DH lets leave now (this was 1 a.m.), but he didn't want too. Left Williamsburg at 5:50 a.m., GPS said that it would take us about 6.5 hours with no stops or traffic. Just imagine your sitting in the car, and a toddler is screaming, OUT! OUT! over and over. Yes, we stopped about 7 times. She sleep a few hours here and there. We arrived yesterday after 9 hours in the car. I'm seriously dreading the ride home from N.C. I've actually told my friend that we may leave in the middle of the night. Hoping that we can just put her in the car and that she will sleep. I need some good thoughts and prayers! Oh I plan to open a bottle of wine when I get home.

Re: Vacation update
drive at night so she'll sleep.
We've driven over night - like leave at 7 pm/bedtime and that's OK, but the transfer can be a ***. This year for vacation, we're leaving around lunch/nap time. Hoping to get a good bit of driving w/ her napping (2-3ish hours) then break for energy/running around and back in the car for few hours and either stop for dinner and then continue on or stop for the night.
We are having fun. Seeing family and being tourist. Although the terrible two's are out in full force this week. Most likely it's from the lack of sleep.
