Does that make sense? Ruby just finally started walking full time at 18 months (yay!) But now it seems like since she started walking, she's using her words less. Is this common?
She only has about 8-10 words anyway, but it seems like she's not using those words as much as she did before she started walking.
Re: Did your tot slow down on talking when they started walking?
Yes. The same thing happened when my son started walking. The pediatrician explained to us this was perfectly normal.
Thank you.....I wonder if it's still "normal" at 18 months though ?
I would think it would be bc it is not about the age, but about the developmental milestone. My son wasn't talking a lot when he started walking, but we noticed that he stopped using and acquiring baby signs until a few weeks afterward.
Thanks that makes sense. She had her 18 month checkup tomorrow so I'll run it by her ped too.
