A NEW PUPPY- IT'S JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!!! We are so in love with her already. Her name is Lucy. She is a 10wk old yorkie. My other yorkie will be 5yrs old Thursday and so it's kind of bday gift for him as well as a temporary distraction for this infertile momma. I'm looking forward to having a new "baby" to take care of. So without any further ado, here's my little Lucy

After 7yrs TTC, 5yrs of ute cancer, and 11 failed IF treatments, we got a surprise BFP! So thankful!

Hey V- Rudi is doing very well with her. He hasn't always liked other dogs so I was pretty nervous. Anytime my cousin or dad brought their dog into our home they would "argue".
But I read online about how to introduce them and he's been wonderful!
What I did was- secured her outside on a her leash and came in and got Rudi- put him on his leash. I took him outside and got her leash in hand and allowed the two of them to sniff each other, but on tight leashes. Then, I walked them up and down the yard- one on one side one on the other- not allowing them to cross in front of me to each other- showing I was dominant not either of them. After we walked and I praised Rudi for being a good boy, I let the tension out of his leash and allowed him to come over and sniff her. Then they just began to run back and forth up and down each other sniffing and waggin tales. (they played a good 2-3mins) I asked Rudi, do you wanna take her inside??? (he knows the command let's go inside) and he started waggin his tale. So I again put them on either side of me and walked them into the house TOGETHER. I immediately put her in a wired cage and allowed them to talk between the bars for 15 mins. Then I asked if he wanted her to get out and play and he was jumping all around I opened the cage let her out and they've been bff ever since.
Sounds like a lot but it's not really. It said NEVER just bring a new puppy into the house on the dominant dogs territory. It said the dog must meet the dog outside of the home and then go in together realizing they are sharing the home now.
IT WORKED AND I'M THRILLED! I could not have kept her if he didn't love her. He's my baby first!!
