Trying to Get Pregnant

Confused on Temp

I have been waking at 6:30 to temp. Well this morning I woke at 4:40 (didn't get up) but I couldn't go back to sleep so I temped at 5 (97.34). Shortly after that I did fall back asleep. I woke again at 6:30 and went ahead and temped (97.48).

I know there isn't a huge difference in the two but I'm confused on which one to use.

Re: Confused on Temp

  • This happened to me a lot in the beginning. Still does occasionally. As long as I don't get out of bed and do fall back into a sound sleep I use the normal temp time and check sleep deprived.

Either way you will get an open circle. Make note of the first time/temp and circumstances in the notes so you can go back later if you need to "play" with your chart.

  • When that happened to me I just added the two temps together and divided it in half.  Not the most accurate way of doing it but at least it gave me a number.  I would place a note in the remarks box with the two temps so I could go back later and play around.
  • I would use the first one because that's when you had at least 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep

  • This has been happening to me this cycle too. I'm new at this so please correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding is that you want the temp with @ least 3 hrs of sleep behind it. So my normal temp time is 6:30, but if I wake up at 4:30, I temp then so I have a temp with 3 hrs of sleep. FF marks them with open circles. I was still able to see a temp shift and FF confirmed O. Hope this helps!
