Indeed. WTF is wrong with that lady? It gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about little fishies swimming around me while I am pushing out my baby
This link got posted on PGAL last night and we all got a good laugh out of it. If you haven't already, read through some of the comments- they are almost as good as the original blog post.
I'm going to tell DH that I think we need to have a canine-assisted birth, so our baby can come into the world surrounded by his/her entire "family."

I was thinking the same thing, both the dog and the cat can help. Hell, while we're at it my will be almost 2 year old can cut the cord.
So, does this mean I can throw my son's Beta into the tub with me? I mean, I'm not sure I could fully focus on labor if I was worried some stupid fish might try and swim up me.....I'm really hoping this is fake...if not, these people are crazy and I'm not sure they should be allowed to care for their child without supervision...
I love out she said the Koi would guide the baby up to her and her husband would be standing by with a net!
This has to be fake.

How crazy rude she (koi birthing mother) is to the midwife!! She should feel absolutely lucky the midwife has taken her on. By the way she writes she sounds awfully snippy. I can't believe this!!
It is also upsetting because I love the option of water for pain relief for myself, as well as my extremely qualified midwife attending - then nuts like this get lump in with me and I want to scream. Seriously, she really should get mental help.
For some reason it took us forever and a day to get and stay pregnant. Cancelled IVF, failed IUI's and a marriage in crisis sandwiched within two years. Now, we've been blessed with two girls and a Christmas Baby is on the way. Not planned but perfect.

What on earth is wrong with people. Who wakes up one day and decides that they want their FISH to deliver their baby?
My favorite though is when she says that the fish will "bring the baby up to her" and if not, her husband will be "standing by with a net"....WTF??
I doubt that the Koi will appreciate the intrusion.
good thing i've been doing my kegels, otherwise i would have just peed my pants from laughing!!
