Jack or Jill Test

When I went in for my NT scan I was offered a Jack or Jill test. They apparently take your blood use it to determine if you are having a boy or girl. I am supposed to find out in about a week what we are having. Did anyone else get this done?

Re: Jack or Jill Test

It's supposed to be 98% accurate.

Too bad they don't offer this in more places! I would love to do it! Good luck to you!

Thanks! I wish they offered it more places too. I will post next week when we find outBig Smile

  • I'll be curious to see of it's accurate! I will not be doing it because we decided to be team green.

  • My friend recently did this (also in Houston) and it seemed so funny to me because she called a 1-800 number, entered a code and heard "It's a girl!"  Not the typical way of finding out, but still fun!

    GL!

  • I think most of Texas has it available to them (although I am in the Houston area).  I thought some other states had it but it seems like maybe it's just Texas now.

I'll be doing the test because it's free with my NT scan but I have to wait until July 11th for that!

Boo! I'm in TX and wasn't offered this as part of my NT scan. *sigh* Guess we will have to wait til August.

I'm in TX and have never heard of this test! We lived about 90 miles away from Houston when I was pg with DS, and even though we are farther away now, we're still in TX. Of course I didn't have the NT scan with DS and won't with this one, either, so maybe that's why I haven't heard about it. Plus, I think I'd rather find out while being able to see it on the u/s instead of just getting a result over the phone.

did they say if it was covered by insurance?  if not how much it costs?

I feel like since it's not medically necessary it might cost a LOT!

The number off the top of my head is like $360, I remember hearing some where.  But like OP responded, it's usually offered free with the NT scan.
