Sesame Street Live or Day out with Thomas?

Sesame street live is coming to our town in Nov and Day out with Thomas is coming in September. I want to bring DS who just turned 2 to both of them because he loves sesame street and trains.

The thing is that even though they aren't crazy expensive its not really budgeted and we are on a tight budget. If I could buy one now one later I could swing it but im worried about tickets being sold out ( I have no ide if they do)

If you had to pick one which would you pick? They are the same price but the Thomas one is 1 1/2 hour away.

Thanks

  • I would go with Sesame Street Live. We took LO and she loved it.

  • We have gone to both. DD liked both, but she likes SSL better. We drove almost two hrs to see it and I would not do that again! DD was fine, but I didn't like the drive!

  • I haven't seen either yet, but I would definitely do SSL based on reviews from friends.
  • We took DS last summer to DOWT when he was 2 and he had so much fun because he could run around and there were lots of different activities.  We can't wait to go again this year.
  • We jut did the Day Out with Thomas and DS#1 had a ball. There were so many activities that were free in addition. DS is obsessed with trains though, so obviously I would pick this over Sesame Street. Next year we will go to the Day out with Thomas and not ride the train, but just do the free activities.

  • We did both, but I would do SSL if I had to choose just one. Thomas is fun, but its mostly all about the 20 minute train ride, since my 2.5 year old DS wasn't really that interested in the other activities offered.

DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
  • I'd recommend finding local reviews of your Day out with Thomas. My sister has been many times to one in TN, I think in the smokey mountains somewhere. It is one of her kids favorite things. Mine was over in East St. Louis and it was totally worthless. It was in the middle of a desolate industrial area with no trees in sight, set up under a highway overpass. It sucked. Sir Topham Hat didn't even show up as promised.

I'm guessing SSL would be a more consistent production from town to town.
