We are looking into preschools for DS, and I love the montessori way.
However the school tuition is pretty steep per school year. DH is looking into how we could make it work. As a backup plan, if it doesn't end up working out, am I crazy to consider teaching montessori to DS?

Re: Montessori Teaching at Home?
Not at all. However, it does depend a bit on how scheduled a person you are, and how much time you are able to invest.
Try and see what you can get from your local library as far as books. Montessori is more than just a way to teach, it is a philosophy. When DS was 18 months, I started implementing it at home. It involved changing his toys and setting up my house a little differently. Montessori is "play with purpose". So random plastic toys should be limited. But a bucket full of 'S' toys (spider, star, shells) etc are perfect for an activity for the day.
Here is a great resource: (the cost is minimal and includes lesson plans!)I am linking her page that starts at age 2.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info or bounce off some ideas (I'll give you my email). I just started the 2 yr program with DS.
Good luck!

Same here! Would love to hear more about this method of teaching!
TIA!
