Baby Gates & Stairs With Landings?

If you have a landing in your staircase, where did you put your baby gates? At the beginning and end of the entire staircase (keeping kiddo off the landings) or just at the top & bottom of the steep part of the stairs, allowing kiddo to get up/down to the landings?

    I have the gate above the landing. There is no good place to put it at the very bottom, and, plus, this way DS gets some practice with stairs, but can't get high enough to hurt himself.

    Just the top.  DS never climbs up when we are downstairs unless one of us is right there with him.  When my nephew comes over, I put a Superyard XT at the bottom.  Didn't help, he just moved it and climbed up anyway!  I had to lash both sides to the banisters!
