Benedryl

Holy allergies?!!!!! Does anyone else use Benedryl while pregnant? My allergies are out of control. Let me know if you think its a good idea to take it...

    I don't personally use it but it is on my approved list from my MW.

    My MW told me it is safe - it's what she told me to take to help me sleep better, not for allergies. Didn't work for helping me sleep, but I hope it helps you with your allergies!

    It's on my Dr.'s "okay to take" list, but...

    I took some last night around 7 PM, and I don't know if it was the hormones or what, but I woke up this morning feeling completely out of it.  It was like a normal benedryl-hangover times 50.  I was nauseated and dizzy for several hours after I woke up, and have had a headache all day.  Like I said, I don't know if it affected me different because of the pregnancy, but I will be abstaining from using it until after LO is born.

    I like to avoid medicine period while pregnant but this is pretty bad :( My CEO will be in my office tomorrow and I don't want to feel awful while she is here... Thank you for letting me know its ok! I remember my doc saying it was but I wanted to reconfirm this is what others have been told.

    I take it every once in a while to help me sleep. It's on my list of approved over the counter medications.

    doc told me that if I couldn't sleep to take one, so I am assuming that you could actually use it for allergies!

    I took Zyrtec for my last month of pregnancy, with my doctor's blessing.

    Benedryl is fine, but it knocks me out.

    At my 37 week appointment yesterday, after I complained about not sleeping well for the last few weeks, my midwife recommended taking 1 a night for the remainder of my pregnancy.

    I took Benadryl for almost 2 weeks straight at night time.  My doctor also told me i could take zyrtec. but take only 25mg of benadryl
