Convertible Carseat

When do you plan to move to one? I know I can use the infant carrier for a long time still but want to start researching which convertible one I want to buy....

And if you have one or know which you want - which one is it and why?

Re: Convertible Carseat

  • We need to buy one ASAP.  L is already 28 inches, and the limit on ours is 29 inches.  We are planning on getting The First Years True Fit C670.

  • DS was moved at 7mos since my arm started going numb from carrying him in the seat. We have the evenflo triumph.

  • It prob won't be for several more months now. We have the Graco Snugride 35 that goes up to 35lbs. She's also only 24 inches right now. When we get one, I'm thinking of Britax because of all the great reviews. Many folks say it's worth the extra coin.

  • Soon. DS is only 17ish pounds but we never bring the infant seat in anywhere anymore so we might as well put him in the more comfortable convertible seat. My mom purchased the Britax Marathon for us for DH's car and we'll get a less expensive one for my car since I drive it less often. I'm thinking a Cosco Scenera unless I can get a Graco or something for a good price during BRU's clearance.

  • With DS, we moved him at 11 months. When he started getting too heavy to carry in the carrier we just kept it in the car and took him in and out like we would with a convertible. We have two evenflo convertibles: The Symphony 65 and the Triumph LX. Overall, I like the quality of both. The Symphony has the surelatch which makes it really easy to install and is a good option for someone who may need to move the seat from car to car regularly. The Triumph has knobs on the sides that are used to tighten the straps which I really like. We will buy the same seats for DD when the time comes.
