Progesterone while trying to conceive

Has anyone out there had to go on progesterone pills or creams due to a low progesterone level? I just had my level checked at my yearly exam and it was 6. Doctor told me it has to be atleast 13 or higher to sustain a pregnancy. Anyone have any advice?  Any side effects from taking progesterone? Did you have luck getting pregnant while taking progesterone?  Thanks!

    Did you have the test done 7DPO?  Because if not the results are inaccurate.

     

    Edit: If you did have it done 7DPO and in fact your levels are that low you could try taking B-6 to lengthen your LP.  I would check with your doctor first and see what he recommends.

    I am currently on 200 mg of Prometrium for an irregular LP.  This is my first cycle taking it and we have been TTC for a year now.  The few side effects I have noticed so far are drowiness and bloating.  I take it at night before bed so it is helping me sleep.  Try the 1st trimester board for success getting pregnant while on it.  I'm hoping this works for us!  Good luck!

    I told her the first day of my last menstrual cycle and she counted it out. The problem is that my cycles are always irregular, so its hard to pinpoint exactly what day I ovulated. I imagine taking progesterone will only help with getting pregnant even if my levels were a little higher.  Thanks for the advice!
