    Because in America, you can sue anyone for anything.  It reminds me of the idiot who sued McDonalds for spilling coffee on himself and got burned, saying he wasn't warned that the coffee was hot.

    Because in America, you can sue anyone for anything.  It reminds me of the idiot who sued McDonalds for spilling coffee on himself and got burned, saying he wasn't warned that the coffee was hot.   

    I used to think that one was wacky too, but after I read more about it (I think Kiltlifter maybe? posted a link once) I feel bad for that woman! She was made out to be an idiot but she WAS very injured by it and after investigation McDonalds was not monitoring their coffee properly and it was WAY over an acceptable drininking temp, like near boiling. I agree that there are entirely too many frivilous law suits in the world, but this one I actually agree with after learning more. She wasnt in it to try to make any money off of it, she started out only wanting reimbursement for her medical costs - but then some media and Im sure a lawyer or 7 got involved.

    Yuppers.  HBO just aired a documentary about it.  Apparently the woman needed skin grafts because the coffee was so hot
