Beach time - advice please :)

We are taking our 3.5 month daughter with us to to CA this weekend. It is her first flight and first time on the beach or in a pool. We live in Alaska, so can't really practice the hot weather and beach thing... What would/do you do with LO at the beach? We have a PNP that we can take if it would be really helpful, otherwise we'll have beach blankets and her infant seat and an umbrella for shade. We got her a rash guard shirt instead of a swim suit for more coverage in the pool and sunblock and a hat. The beach and pool are literally steps from the condo, so it will be easy to go back and forth. Any tips welcome!! 1ht on phone

    Sounds like you are really prepared!  I think the PNP might be a lot actually on the beach.  I think blankets and an umbrella would be perfect.  What about a bumbo seat?

    Sunblock sunblock sunblock. Babies don't seem to enjoy being sunburned :(

    I wouldn't bring any contraption that you mind getting damaged by sand and salt. Also, I would bring a small cooler with water and washcloths to wipe her down if she gets hot/flushed.

    We just got back from a week in FL (we're in MA). Practice the rash guard before you go. We bought one for DD, but it was such a pain to try getting on her that we just slatherd her in sunblock & put a hat on instead. Have fun.

    Go Alaska! :) Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the feedback and will definitely try out the rash guard before we go. The cool water idea is great too! We'll just go with the beach blankets to keep it simple.
