11.5 hours of sleep at night

DS can sleep 11 - 11.5 hours of sleep at night (nurse to sleep), but he can't take a good nap :(  He even has wakeful moments in the night and puts himself back to sleep.  He doesn't take a paci at night either.

I started sleep training today and i went in at 3, 5, 8 min. and he fell asleep after 25 min. of crying, but only slept for 15-20 min. I picked him up and cut his nap short. Should I start the method again of 3, 5, 8 min. of soothing or should I just end the nap.  I can't remember what I did with my daughter.

  • Is he tired when you're putting him down? Maybe he's not tired enough?

I'm having the exact same issue! She turns into a bear every day because she's over tired but she won't sleep! Up until a week ago, she would take at least one 3-4 hour nap. I'm going crazy and can't get anything done. The only reason I'm bumping is because DD is sound asleep on my boob!
  • he is napping now with a paci!!  I've put him down to sleep for a nap before and he sleeps for like 30 min. cries even with the paci in his mouth.  Maybe I should just sleep train with the paci, but its not really sleep training is it if I put him asleep awake with a paci in his mouth?

Or maybe he's overtired? Or overstimulated? How long is he awake between naps?
