babymoon- w/or w/o DC#1

Our kids will be just around 24 months apart. I really would like to do a night or two away before 32 weeks and that is getting to be just around the corner.

My H & I both work full time, so I feel guilty and sad about leaving our LO on the weekend, but feel like a truly relaxing time to reconnect w/my H would mean leaving LO behind.

I think I'll be fun about it and make a poll.

Can you go overnight somewhere? We live 15 mins from downtown charleston, and when DD was 4 months and sleeping well, I had my mom come and watch them. I nursed DD and got her to bed, put DS to bed and drove downtown for dinner. We had a later dinner and got a nice hotel room. We stayed until 9 something in the am and came home. DS barely knew we were gone. It was just enough time.

Before we TTC #3, we will go downtown again but for more time...stay later in the day and leave earlier at night. It gives us enoigh time, but we are close to home.

If you truly want it to be just a "you and DH" trip, then the obvious answer is to leave DC. We took a babymoon before we had DS and it was a great trip for DH and I, sort of a "one last vacation with just the two of us." When we were ready to have DD, we took a trip with DS as our "one last trip, just the three of us." It was important to us to have that and really enjoy our time with him alone while we had it. I'm not sure I could be ready to leave DS on a trip yet, even now, so that's the way we did it and we had a blast as a family.
