What are your plans for a playroom for LO? Right now we have his toys in a bin in the family room along with his jumperoo. I put out a blanket for him during the day, and put everything away each night.
Eventually he will have a playroom in the basement, but he won't be old enough to be down there by himself for a few years.
Where will your LO play as they start to crawl and walk? Are you getting foam mats for the floor? Do you have a dedicated playroom?
Re: s/o playroom
I'm working on his playroom now...we have a lot of space in the basement so we turned on into his playroom. True, he won't be able to go down there alone to play for a while, but it'll keep the clutter out of the living room (somewhat). I plan on using it as soon as it's painted and set up (hopefully this week - and I'll post pics!)
I got the interlocking foam mat at a garage sale for 2 bucks to use over the carpet, a bunch of toys, looking into a wall decal, but that's just an extra. It'll be really nice when it gets super hot b/c it's in the basement (underground) and it's always cooler down there. It's also next to our laundry room so I can fold clothes while DS plays. We have an extra TV that I might hook up down there too. We'll see about that one though, not sure yet.

We don't have a playroom for LO. The best plan right now seems to be a small toy bin in the living room, and a toy bin in her bedroom, and we'll just have to pick up frequently. My step-daughter will be 18 in a few years and I don't think she'll be coming over for entire weekends by that time, so maybe we'll turn her bedroom into a playroom. But there's the chance that she'll decide to live with us then too since we live closer to the college she is currently fantasizing about going to, so I don't have my heart set on having her room be the play room. We will just make do with the space that we have.
We are going to make our guest room into a playroom/office for me. So, while he is little and needs to be supervised all the time, he'll be able to play up there if I'm up there blogging. Otherwise, he'll be allowed to bring a few toys downstairs every day to play with in our living room or at the little play table we plan on putting in the dining room. If he wants to get another toy from the playroom, one has to go back, etc. Then they will all have to be put away at the end of the day.
This is the plan at least.
