Did I miss it yesterday? I wasn't on a whole lot because I actually was busy at work, hehe. I know last week there were only a few replies, but I think we should keep doing these check-ins!
Here's my update: I worked out once last week. I'm a total slacker, but I hope to get back on track this week. I have a little over a month to go before my beach trip. I think I was making progress, but I had a backslide this past week with too much eating (had some pot lucks where I ate too much) and not enough working out.
How's everyone else doing?
Re: Weekly Workout Check-in?
Haha! I'm too lazy to even bother with Spanx. I just let it all hang out! But I wear lots of flowy clothes to conceal it.
That would be my bad - I wasn't sure if it was worth posting a check-in because we had sooooo little interest last week.
Last week was awful for me! I think I worked out twice (I'd been doing 5 days every other week) because of a baby who was fighting naps (that's when I workout) and then we went on a weekend beach trip.
I'm annoyed because even though I've lost inches, I haven't lost one damn pound. I'm probably just gaining muscle at this point, but it wrecks my motivation when I don't see scale results
/whine
I'm back at it though - did the Shred yesterday and today.
All good. I think we should keep it going
Maybe it will just be the 3 of us (you, me, mands), but at least we can keep each other motivated.
How was the trip? I'm sooooo not looking forward to going to the beach. I think I am going to return the tankinis I bought and just wear cover ups on the beach.
You are so smart. I do get way too weight (#) obsessed and weigh myself a few times a week. But yeah, I do fit into my clothes better since working out and have been able to fit into smaller sizes lately, so that should be good enough!
Maybe if I stopped doing the "modified" workout, I would look a little more toned, lol.
I'm in - if we have a few that are definitely interested, then it's worth keeping up with. Definitely join us, Kellog!!
The beach trip was fun - I did brave it and put on a bikini (I actually don't look awful in one, it's just that I'm flabby/non-toned and not in the best shape of my life, so I feel more self-conscious now). But I told myself that 5 years from now, I might want to punch present-day-self in the cooter for not wearing a bikini b/c i'll probably look worse then...and then I'll think back to now and think, "why didn't I flaunt it back then??" So I'm owning it on the beach this summer.
My real goal, though, is to look better in a bikini for family vacation in 3.5 weeks. Whereas I was in a bathing suit for about 2 hours this past weekend (and only in the presence of LO and my BFF), I'll be living in bikinis for an entire week by the pool with my extended family next month. So I want to be able to keep up with my younger cousins, lol.
Kellogg - Please join us! All are welcome
LOL, KFL! And glad you had a good beach trip.
LOL - I'm serious though! I had a rockin' little bod in college but I had this thing where I never wore shorts. Just never liked them. It was always long baggy jeans and a small shirt (or a long skirt). I'd like to go punch THAT girl in the hooha because I had great legs and shouldn't have been hiding them. Now I have these blubbery thunder thighs that I try to squeeze into shorts....it's not at all pretty :P
I'm interested! I just haven't been around much lately =(
Last week was a complete bust for me. Though I did go on an hour and a half long walk with the dog and kiddo. And I bought the 30 Day Shred and plan on starting that the Monday after I get back from AZ (so, the 11th I think.)
Also, this week I am going to AZ and am *hopefully* going to be doing a good amount of walking, so maybe the heat and the walking combined will help me lose a little weight ;-)
OMG i can not stop eating!
my husband just got back from a local coffee shop and brought me a danish (because i cant have coffee, so i should be able to have another treat) super sweet babe, but UUUUMMMMM...have you seen me lately?
anyhow...i am meeting with a friend for a run tonight after LO goes to bed. i think i literally need someone next to me chanting "dont stop running fatty!"
I would like to join!!!
Last week I walked the dogs 4 days...not a ton but I had three dogs and was pushing the stroller for at least 80 minutes 4 days.
I haven't done anything this week yet, but I am hoping to walk after work tonight. My job is pretty active so I am hoping that counts for something!
Planning on exercising for the first time tonight after slacking off for the past month (due to sickness, poison ivy and laziness). I acutally bought the 30 day shred. Would like to try that. Also bought some running shoes last week. Trying to motivate myself. My sisters are both avid runners so I need to step it up a notch I guess.
I hope next week when we all check back in the news is a little better. Sounds like everyone had a rough week - it's hard to find time to exercise - but the results are definitely worth it.
Yay, I'm happy there's a lot of interest! I guess last week was just a slacker week for most of us. Let's all get off our tushies this week, so we can all say we're back on track at next week's check-in
For those of you starting the 30 Day Shred, I think you're going to like it. I know I do. It's a nice quick workout that really makes you sweat.
I havn't actually start working out yet, but I made the effort and ordered the 30 Day Shred DVD. I got one for my mom too since all the girls in my family do a beach week the third week in August. I'm planning on starting next Friday, but I would like to start walking/jogging again on Thirsday night.
I'll try my best to make the weekly check in, but I'm only really around in the evening - unless I get to actually relax at lunch time and get on my phone
I was looking for it too! I lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks... Not too shabby. I typically get to the gym M, T, W, and maybe twice on one or two of those days. This week, we were at the zoo monday, so no gym but lots of walking anyway.
I'm tracking my food and exercise on FitDay.com and it is a HUGE help. It makes me want to stick to portion sizes so I have less guilt.
AND I discovered a great idea at a weight loss class last night...
If you would normally make a 3 cheese omelet, make it with one egg and 2 egg whites. It tasted about the same and was a little healthier.
ALSO: I stepped into the size 12 dress I was talking about a few weeks ago, and I got it zipped up. It was super tight, but I got it zipped. And I looked REALLY good in the 14 because I lost an inch and a half around my waist. So now I need to shrink my thighs and tummy to get into the 12 by August. HELP!
