I'm going to shove that item into places it doesn't belong.
MH is definitely the worst offender, which the first couple of times was cute because he was looking into what is and isn't safe.....now it's beyond annoying.
We're going to have dinner with our friends (who had a baby 6 weeks ago). I'm making some brownies to bring down as dessert, and when I told him I was making brownies....
"YOU CAN'T HAVE BROWNIES!" Unless you want to be pulling those brownies out of very uncomfortable places, I suggest you STFU. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! (I'm pretty sure this is related to the small amounts of caffeine in chocolate. It's not like I'm going to be eating the entire pan of brownies by myself in 1 sitting...)
Re: If 1 more person tells me what I can't have...
Haha, exactly! I think I know I am pregnant, and I think I know how to not mess up my baby. Unless you have a medical degree, and real, actual facts, stop telling me what I am allowed to have.
and after 82 days in the NICU, our little girl is home!
Every time I have a coffee mug in my had in the office some ones "You aren't supposed to have caffeine!"
Oh really? Thanks for the advice.
Make a pregnancy ticker
You're telling us that there was a pregnant woman who didn't eat chocolate her entire pregnancy?

Very annoying! 2 girls in my office tell me I'm not allowed to have hot dogs (cooked), fish (any kind), etc. FALSE!
If people are going to give advice, I'd like for it to be accurate please!

My sister followed the Finnish study and ate a ton of chocolate during both of her pregnancies and I have an amazing niece and nephew they were both quite calm as babies and even as toddlers. With my nephew he would kick until she ate "good chocolate" like godiva and would continue kicking while she ate "cheap chocolate" like M&Ms.
This happens to me as well every.single.time!!! I'm so sick of telling people it's allowable to have up to 200mg a day (my OB actually told me 300mg but I'm sticking to the conservative side)

This!!!
I am that pregnant lady who doesn't like chocolate and would be completely content with not having any for 9 months;)
Yes, my hubs and mom are especially vocal about what I can/not eat but to be honest it hasn't really gotten under my skin yet.

wow ~ now I really want some brownies. They sound good.
As for the person that tries to get between a pregnant woman and some chocolate... I'd put my $ on the pregnant woman every time.
Oh HELLZ ya! This is so me. LOL
I don't know why I just remembered this, but a few weeks ago, he was encouraging my sudden craving for s'mores when we were at the beach with his mother for the weekend.....sooo, s'mores are ok (probably because he really wanted them), but brownies are not?
It is helpful sometimes, when he reluctantly reminded me I couldn't eat the beef carpaccio when we went out for our anniversary, but the caffeine thing drives me nuts, mostly because I barely drink any to begin with (only an occasional coke, I never drank coffee before anyway).
This is how I feel exactly!
I got my first one of these the other day. **Backstory**: I have been getting horrible headaches for the past few weeks, so I talked to my dr about it at my last appt, and she suggested that I try a little caffeine, since I had completely cut it out of my diet. So I have since been having one unsweetened iced tea a day, and the headaches are gone.**
Ok, back to the original story--I went to get a pedicure on Saturday, and I was feeling a headache coming on, so on my way to my appt, I stopped at 7-11 and got an iced tea. I took it in with me to the salon, and when I told the lady I was pregnant, she right away eyeballs my iced tea and tells me that I'm not supposed to be drinking caffeine. Ummm- thanks?? I just told her that it was what my doctor suggested for headaches, and she shut up. Annoying! People need to mind their own business!
Side note: speaking of chocolate, I got these dark chocolate, caramel filled squares at Trader Joes the other day- they are AMAZING!
What he REALLY should have said is "you can't take brownies there - you're going to enjoy them FAR too much yourself here to have enough left over!"...
I honestly don't think I'd survive a day without chocolate - it's the only source of caffeine left in my diet and besides - with DD that was one of my cravings... Leave Momma Bear and her chocolate alone!!!
hahaha I totally agree!!! I've never been a big chocolate eater but I am addicted to Reese's Peanut Butter Sticks... mmmmm My SO laughs at me everytime I eat them cus I go to my happy place
AND We went out to dinner with friends over the weekend and I asked the waiter for chocolate milk cus I'm addicted, and the guy just looked at me so weird and says "really, you want chocolate milk?" YES, i'm pg! I had 2 huge glasses while SO and our friends laughed at me, it's so yummy though! lol
