We are going on vacation to the beach for 8 days this weekend. I am not sure what all to take as far as toys for my DS who is 2 years old?? I have some books set aside, his favorite disney cars, and beach toys for the beach. What am I missing? I am afraid I am not taking enough toys to keep him occupied during down time? Thanks
Re: What to take on Vacation for 2 year old????
My first thought was a nanny
Wouldn't that be nice. But for a beach vacation, sounds like you have a good selection. The beach itself is going to keep him totally occupied most of the days. Let him collect shells and pebbles to bring back to the room at night. That will keep his interest more than toys. If you have a portable DVD player, you might bring one favorite movie for the really difficult evening or rainy day. But honestly, the new environment is going to provide so much stimulation that he won't touch half of what you bring.
ETA: Oh, and teach him to build a tent from a couple chairs and a sheet. This provides DD with hours of fun and imagination
We took a trip to the beach at the beginning of last month. Several friends suggested taking a long a small, blowup pool for DD in case she was afraid of the water. DD ended up loving the water and we didn't use the pool, but it was nice to have as backup.
