So I just went off the birth control pill on 6/13/11 and got my period from 6/15/11 to 6/20/11. My husband and I just started to try to get pregnant by having sex every other day. I'm hoping we get pregnant soon!!! But I have a question, if a family member on my husband's side has low sperm count, does that mean my husband has a chance of having it too?

    Good luck with ttc! To answer your question, no, not likely. Of course it's possible but low sperm count can have to do with so many things, it's not just genetic. There are also environmental and lifestyle factors that can have an affect on sperm. If you haven't already, read the awesome newbie link at the top of the main Trying to get Pregnant page. 

    ETA: Now, if there is a long history (like more than a few people) then, I'd go ahead and get it checked out.

    Welcome and good luck!  Some people get lucky right away and some take longer.  Since you are just coming off the pill you may want to start charting your cycle.  After 12 years on BC my cycle is totally different than it was on the pill or before that.

    Thanks for the advice girls! I do keep track of my cycle on my phone, so I guess we'll see what happens. keeping my fingers crossed! Hope everyone gets their wish soon :)
