Babies: 3 - 6 Months

DH wears ear plugs at night

Needless to say, this really annoys me.  Every morning, he asks me "How'd the baby sleep last night?"  Ummmm really???  You didn't hear him crying from 3-4:30?  You didn't hear him the 2 times he woke to eat?  Oh.  That's right.  You wear ear plugs so you can get your beauty rest while I haven't had a full nights sleep in 4 months.  He does have to go to work and I am home, but this still aggravates me to no end.  He even does it on the weekends and has never offered to give me a night's sleep.  I'd gladly pump so he could get up the 2 times to feed lo...just once!  When I go back to work in Sept. I am burning his ear plugs!!!

  • We both wear the foam ones and believe me we both still hear every noise the baby makes! Is he just playing dumb? Lol

  • Mine actually bought those headphones that don't let in sound.  He only wore them until they were about 2 months old, but it was annoying.  We both always had to get up to feed them anyways since there are 2 babies, so I always had to go shake him to wake him up.  I didn't see the point...

  • Sorry I had to laugh a little.  It's the opposite at my house.  I wear the earplugs (b/c my hubby snores for much) and my he gets up to get the baby settled if she starts crying in the night.  However, I do get up every night to pump and do the 4:30am feeding so it's basically a trade off.  Hopefully your LO starts sleeping better soon and you can BOTH get a good night sleep!!!

  • At first I laughed about this and then I got MAD...for you! :) While you're home and he works, I can see having this arrangement during the week. However, he should help on the weekends...give you a break. However, he better be ready?lol?when you go back to work it?s going to be on like popcorn! He?s going to have to help and you can hide his ear plugs!!!

Wow. He sounds like a giver. No, wait- douche. That was the word I was looking for.

Agreed. I get during the week...but on weekends? What an a-hole.

  • Yeah...this would piss me off to no end.  Audrey is up 6 times a night recently, and I'm going to work in the morning.  Your DH needs to suck it up, put on his big boy pants, and do his Daddy duties.  If DH tried to pull this crap, I'd lie and say she was sleeping through the night.  Then when she woke him up, I'd make him go get her.

  • That shiz would not fly in my house. I don't get all of this lack of help from all of these "men". If you are a parent then act like one and get your lazy, sorry ass out of bed when your child needs something. Jeebus that makes me mad.

agree! Even if my husband doesn't get up, he will take Nate in the morning on the weekend so I can catch up on sleep. We both work full time.

  • If that were my hubby, I would have made those ear plugs disappear a long time ago.
