Tell me your daily schedule..

I am curious to see your LO's sleeping and eating schedules! What does your day look like? How many ounces at each feeding? What time is bedtime?

  • Bed time at 1030-1130p

Wake up between 230-330 to eat

Takes an hour to get her back to sleep.

    Wake up between 630-730a eat.

Hang out with me and back to sleep about 930am.

Wake up about 1230 to eat, back to sleep by 330pm.

Wakes up about 730-830p to eat and bed time routine begins.

In bed by the latest 1130p. And it starts all over. :)

Some nights she will sleep 1030-1130p to 530a. That messes her up though :)

  • wow

our schedule is laughable compared to these

    wake up between 7-10am

hold him, put him in swing, put him in bouncy seat, give 4 oz bottles until 9-10pm

    go to bed around 10-11pm

*he takes cat naps...nothing consistent. He usually takes a big nap around noon or 1, but yesterday he slept almost the entire day.

  • This all varies a lot, but a typical day for us would be:

Wake up to eat between 5:15 and 6:15

    Back to sleep at 8

    Wakes to eat at 9

    Eats at 11

    Eats at 1

    Naps from 2 to 5

    Eats at 5

    Naps from 6 to 7

We begin bedtime routine at 7:15 (including nursing around 7:30)

    In bed by 8

    Wakes at 1:30 to eat

    Back in bed by 3

    And it all starts over!

Pretty sure we live in the same house! DS on the other hand is on a pretty set schedule nut even that is flexible depending on the day.

Wow. I think my kid sleeps too much.

6:00 wake up, eat, change diaper, back to bed

9:00 wake up, eat, play for an hour, run errands, pass out in ergo somewhere

12:00 eat and play for another hour, then nap

3:00 eat, start fussy time, chill til next feeding

6:00 eat, get cranky and fussy, fight sleeping

8:30 another feeding and TV time

10:30 dream feed and bedtime routine

sometimes she'll sleep until 6:00, but other times she's up at 3:30 or 4:00 AM for a night time snack.

  • Note: Food amounts are breastmilk.  I exclusively pump.

7:30-9:30am: Wake up time.  3oz bottle.  Hang out with me and be fussy and cluster feed off and on, usually end up eating another couple ounces.

11:00-12:30: 3oz bottle, usually finally stop fussing and take a nice long nap until 3:30pm.

3:30pm: 3oz bottle.  Hang out for a little while then nap.

6:30pm: 3oz bottle.  Hang out for a little while then nap.

8:00pm: Start bedtime of bath, 2-3oz bottle and story, then put to sleep in her crib by 9:00pm

Midnight: 3oz bottle back to sleep

4am: 3oz bottle back to sleep

Wake up and do it all again.

Note: Times vary a lot, she really eats about every 3 hours, 4 at night, and likes to be fussy in the morning instead of evenings.  No idea why she is backwards like that but its fine :) At least she sleeps pretty well at night usually!

  • I have a six week old. Our schedule is she sleeps when she's tired and eats when she's hungry. For any first time moms reading these tight schedules and feeling bad, don't worry. I don't think they're the norm. A true predictable routine comes much later.

    This!

The only thing that seems "set" is that she wakes up around 6a every morning, regardless of the last time she ate, and squirms around in the PNP until DH gets her. She sleeps for 2-3 hours on his chest until he has to get up for work. That is literally the only consistent thing she does. The other 20 hours a day, she eats whenever she is hungry (every one hour or up to every 5 hours), naps when she is tired (for 5 mins or for 3 hours), and makes silly faces, pees, and poops on the in between.

  • 7-9 am wakes up and eats 4oz, diaper change and cuddles, sometimes back to sleep until 1030-11.

during the day he eats every 3-4 hours, with short naps (usually on me) tummy/mat time, walks, singing songs in between.

between 7-8 I try to start the bedtime routine. I give him a bottle and then swaddle him (with his arms out or he freaks out) with a blanket out of the dryer and walk and shhh him to sleep. He usually sleeps until about 11-12 (again, on the couch with me watching TV) and then he eats again and we go to bed (we co-sleep) and he might sleep until 4:30-5 ish (sometimes he is up at 3, but the last few nights it has been later than that, thank god!)

I know he sleeps too much on me, but it is the only way I can get him to sleep for longer than 20min, and if he doesn't sleep for at least 40min to 1hr he is way too cranky! His cranky/colic periods are getting shorter and I don't have to spend as much time walking with him in my arms to get him to sleep as I did the last few weeks, so hopefully we can transition to some naps in the crib soon!

    What's a schedule? Big SmileSurprise

I second that...we have a bit of a fluid routine, but nothing more.

wake and nurse between 6:30 and 8,   wide awake for 2-ish hours with a snack somewhere in there.  cat nap off and on and nurse until mid day.  Awake for 2-ish hours, then sleep off and on and wake between 4:30 and 5:30.  Begin unsettled, crying and cluster feeding, continue until 8:30-9pm.  9:30pm fussy time is safely over, out for the night.

We usually spend our mornings out.  Kaitlin naps/nurses in the sling and Ankaret plays with friends at playgroups.  Now that everything's finished for the summer we'll have to find new things to do.

  • We don't have an exact schedule, just go with the flow of things. We get up anywhere between 530 and 830. He eats somewhere in there as well (4 oz). We do tummy time, rock in his chair, sit and talk, play with the pups...basically anything that keeps him awake and happy till 1030. By 10:30 he's down for a short nap, usually about an hour and then we eat (4oz). He's usually fussy between noon and 2. Sometimes he'll nap, sometimes he'll play on his matt, sometimes he sits with me and reads the bump. 2 until whenever is naptime (for both of us). We eat again somewhere in there (4oz) after we wake up. The evenings, I'm not real sure what goes on. DH is home and he takes care of DS till time to go to bed so I can cook, clean, shower, have a little me time. He eats and usually takes another 1 hr nap in there somewhere and we all go to bed about 1030. DS wakes (typically) 1 time in the night (anywhere between 2 and 4) to eat.  On average, he eats every 3 hours. Sometimes its 2 1/2 hrs between feedings, sometimes he'll go 3 1/2 to 4 hrs. We're laid back and just go with the flow cause its what works for us. Only consistant thing we have is his meds (one every feeding, the other every 8 hrs).

Our schedule went something like this:

    3:30AM- change, feed

    4-5:30- sleep

    5:30- change, feed

    6:00- sleep

    8:30-  change, feed

    9:00- sleep

    10:00- change, feed

hold fussy baby  who won't sleep except for short periods on mommy during the day and feed every 1-2 hours. Sometimes we go to the grocery store, pharmacy etc in between feedings.

    7:30ish- bathtime then change, feed

hold fussy baby and continue feeding every 1-2 hours until anywhere between 11 and 1:30AM.

However, I have decided to be a terrible mom the last few days- feel free to flame away, but I have start putting him on his stomach to sleep. The last two days he's gone to bed at 8:00 after his bath and feed and slept 3-4 hour periods at night. I feel much more rested and he is much less fussy- he even takes a couple one hour naps in his crib during the day.

Substitute long nursing sessions followed by bottles and you have our house. She nurses from 20-50 minutes and takes 2-3oz of formula afterwards.  She usually wakes up about 3am for feeding, then again sometime around 6am.  DH gives her a bottle after I nurse while I take a shower sometime around 7-8am.  She generally goes to sleep for real about midnight.  Everything in between is a crap shoot of eating, sleeping, awake time and diaper changes.   We have no formal schedule or playtime activities.  Guess I'm a slacker.

  • H wakes to eat typically around 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm, 10pm (dream feed) and wakes around 3am-ish to eat. His wake time is about 45 minutes to an hour total.

  • We don't have a schedule around the baby...my schedule revolves around my older kids.

The only thing that is consistent is that DD3 has her fussy hours between 7-9.  We try and get everyone in bed by then.

This is exactly us too!  Except I BF whenever he is hungry.  Sometimes he eats a lot, sometimes he doesn't.   Sometimes naps happen, sometimes they don't.
