Spinach - first foods?

Are spinach part of baby's first foods list? How do you cook them? Can I just boil them, then puree them?

If you steam and puree spinach, it is super concentrated (b/c the spinach condenses so much when it steams). I mix it with applesauce so it tastes like applesauce yet still has the potent spinach in it. It works great for kale, too!
