Super irritated at paypal right now

Is there NO WAY to "undo" an old account?  I've had the same email address for, seriously, probably 15 years.  At one point I opened a paypal account with it, and I of course no longer know the password.  I don't even know the answers to the security questions because they're things like your drivers license number, and I've moved states since then!  Grrrr.

So, I use DH's paypal account - same bank account anyway, no big deal. . . until I want to buy him something as a surprise!  So, I went in to change the "contact email" address so that I still log in with his address, but emails are sent to mine. . . and they won't let me do THAT either!  It said something like - this email address is already associated with an account, use it.  Argh! 

Anyone know if there's a way to fix this??

    I have no idea..but it took PayPal like 3 years to send money to charmcity from my account!  Okay not that long...but long enough to make me feel like an idiot!

    I hate it with the fire of a thousand suns and refuse to use it. This sucks in situations where you are "required" to use it, but I find a way to deal. I'm honestly amazed that they are still up and running because so many of their practices are shady (for example, the money of mine that they have and I cannot get or transfer -- yep, they effectively just stole it).
