Today on our escape from home, Abigail and I went to visit DH at work because I had to bring something back home.. He got the car fixed, by the way, so I have my truck to drive again..
Anyway, because they keep classified info in the plant, we had to stay outside. In the sun. In a huge, newly paved, dark hot asphalt, with not even the slightest hint of shaded area.
I hate that it happened, and we weren't standing out there long at all, but Abigail got burnt a little.
How do I soothe it?
I gave her some infant advil to take off the edge, at least. The current plan is to wait until she goes to sleep and lay the lotion to it.
We're watching Baby Einstein, so she is calm for the moment. Happy even. She loves Baby Einstein.

I've put it on her twice already. I should have put that I'm going to put it on better and thicker when she goes to sleep, because she'll be still then, and I won't feel like I'm torturing her. She cries so pitifully.

I'll have to go get some aloe gel today. The babycenter article (thanks, AggieBeth) says it's fine as long as it is a water based lotion. Haha, I was worried big time there for a second, that I screwed up big time!
For the record, I did tell DH, who was showing Abigail off to his coworkers, that under those conditions she'd burn in no time.
For the other record, the entire time we tried to hold her in our shadow to avoid this.. That's probably why it's only on her arms and legs. But I still feel absolutely horrible about it.
