Anyone have a Leapster for their LO?

If your LO has a Leapster handheld game, I have a few questions for you. DH mentioned last night that he'd like to get one for Grant for his birthday--second birthday. The age range says 3+. Often times, the age range on toys seems a bit off, is that the case for the Leapster? LO loves playing with my iPad. He has lots of apps and he knows the ones he likes better. Heck, he surprised me recently by being able to do a 16 tile memory game (you know--find the matches). Do you think a Leapster would be appropriate? Or, might the Tag reading system be better? TIA!!

      You might get the Tag Junior or the Leapster Explorer for the age. We got both for DS, christmas gifts at 3 3/4, he loves them!  We do more on the iPad together but the Leapster is great for him alone.  We find them super for naptime transition, extended car trips etc.  You might grab a used set of them both for the next few months then get the older versions closer to 3.
