So DH and I have agreed on three possible girl names; he hasn't decided which is his favorite, and I love them all and can't decide which is my favorite. The middle names are all family names and are interchangeable if you think one goes better with another name. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!
Emmeline Jean
Clara Joy
Lila Ann
Re: DH agreed to three possibilities... this is a big step! ;)
I wouldn't do Emmaeline because there are soooo many Emmas and Emmys around. I like both Lila and Clara.
I like Lila Joy or Lila Jean. Lila Ann has two 'a' sounds next to each other, which sounds choppy when you put them next to each other, in an effort to keep them from sounding like "lilann." I also love Clara Joy or Clara Jean for the same reason.
Question, are you pronouncing Emmaline with a "lin," "line" or "leen" sound at the end? If the latter, Emmaline Jean sounds too rhymey. And Ann would have too similar of an ending too. With Emmaline, I think Joy would be the only middle name that would work. Either way, it's my last choice of the three, just because Emma and variations of such are so popular.
Congrats on getting the hubby on the same page, though - that's a big step!

Emmeline is my favorite first name, but I would pair it wit Joy.
I like Clara Joy! What a pretty middle name.
Is it just me, or does "Emmeline Jean" rhyme? Or are you pronouncing Emmeline like "em-a-LINE" not "em-a-LEEN"?
