I need a TIMEOUT from my kids (and pls come in if your LO has tubes)

Today has been an epic disaster in every possible way and my husband is working late. Agggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

For those of you with ear tubes--anyone had an infection after the tubes were placed? Were your LO's symptoms the same as before (s)he had tubes. I'm afraid Henry has an ear infection and his tubes were just inserted last freaking week!! Also, did your LO tug at his/her ears after the tubes were placed...is that normal? I have a call into the ENT office.

ETA: I'm currently hiding in the pantry eating lime-flavored tortilla chips and drinking wine. If I come out of the pantry with them Henry will want some and I don't want him to ruin his dinner. How pathetic am I???

Oh friend!!! Maybe H needs some wine to help with his whine. I'm sorry today has been so rough. I am giggling at the mental picture of you hiding in the closet with your vino and tortilla chips. Is there anything that you can do special for H that will keep him occupied? Can you put him in the bath tub to play? I hope things get better!

I'm not laughing, but the thought of you huddled in the pantry with the chips bag was a funny mental picture. First off, ((hugs)) mama. I imagine having two small ones can get quite stressful sometimes. Just wanted to say that DS had a couple infections after his tubes and all kinds of mucuosy snot drained from them. They had us use antibiotic drops twice a day and a couple different oral meds and they eventually cleared. After about a month, he was fine and hasn't been sick since. Best thing ever!!
