I'm 34 weeks and had a check-up today and when the doc checked the baby's heartbeat it was over 200. He waited a few more minutes and checked it again and it was in the 180s. He sent me to the hospital to have things monitored. So, of course, the whole time I'm driving over I'm freaking out because right before my first miscarriage the baby's heartbeat was super high as well.
They monitored the baby for about an hour and then the heartrate was ranging from 140 to the 160s and then it would go higher when the baby would be kicking. So, they sent me home and I have to call tomorrow for an ultrasound.
I think things are good but at the same time I'm super worried. I just want a healthy, living, breathing baby in another four weeks or so.Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
Re: XP - Sent to L&D because baby's heartrate was too high
That must've been so scary! Glad everything seems to be ok and I hope the u/s can give you some reassurance.
My son had a high heart rate after he was born. When he was 2 months old, it was in the ranges you talked about so we saw a pediatric cardiologist. We did a bunch of tests and nothing was found. They actually blamed it on reflux.
They also measured it different ways, and some ways were more accurate than others.
Good luck and hopefully it turns out to be nothing as well.
