What would your "ideal" diaper bag look like?

I'm strongly leaning toward making my own diaper bag before baby no 2 gets here. I know I'll need something with more room than the purse I'm currently using, but I'm just not a fan of the styles out there. I'd love to get ideas for features to include. Right now I know I want a bright fabric inside (easier to see stuff) and I want an inner zipper pocket for my wallet/checkbook/cellphone, but I can't really think of what else I should include.

    I love an outside pocket (my current bag has 2 small ones with zippers) that I love for quick access for lip gloss, keys, and cell phone.  I use the inside zippered pocket as you said.

    I wish mine had even more pockets!! I love the clips for my keys... I have a diaper dude messenger bag.

    Somethig that just didn't look like a diaper bag but functioned as one. I am currently using my Tory Burch bag as a diaper bag cause everything else was so not cute..but I have totally ruined my bag by having spills.. Crushed up gold fish Ect in it..

    I have found that you can never have enough bottle/sippie holders.  My bag has four (two inside, two outside), and with sippies for three plus a container of puffs, they all get used.  I also love an inside zip pocket (big) for things that I don't use often (like a spare sleeper or change of clothes) and a zip pocket on the outside for my wallet/keys/chapstick.

    An insulated pocket if you are going to get fancy!  My diaper bag was made of laminated fabric so it was very very wipeable...Loved it!

    Unfortunately it was brown with lime green polka dots so DH wasn't a fan;)

    All of this except I'm using my Michael Kors bag. I do have a Kate Spade diaper bag I use when we're traveling because it has lots of pockets and helps me stay organized. I have to be honest, I don't carry much in my bag for my kids anyway. A diaper for each of them and a small pack of wipes is all I need.

    Mine has a divider inside that has velcro on one side so you can open it up or use the divider.  Also lots of pockets in and out, a padded bottom and two cool outside pockets for drinks.  I also love the strap (fabric that you spread over your shoulder) because it does not hurt my shoulder when we are flying and I am carrying a full diaper bag with my laptop inside as well.  I actually received one as a gift after I got one on babysteals, and I kept them both and use one as my work bag for my laptop, etc.  Mine are both purple.
