For people who swap...

I have $20 worth of formula checks that I'm trying to swap. Someone contacted me with a GC in the amount of $15. She asked if I have anything else I can include stating "I know typically checks are traded for 1/2 the amount of a gift card." Is that true? To me, money is money. If I'm giving her $20 in checks for $15 in a gift card, it seems like she's getting the better deal. WWYD? I'm willing to pass up this deal, but I want to know if she's right.

I've never traded gc for checks, only checks for checks, but I would think it should be equal amounts on both parties.  KWIM?  I would pass up on it!

  • I have seen on there that typically GCs are in fact traded for checks, double the value. However, its all up to the swappers.

I have traded $5 checks for 20GTG points. Its what the swapper determines that its worth. If thats what you want to trade, tell the other swapper... thats all you have.

  • I think it's whatever the value is to you. I had $50 in Similac checks and traded someone a couple weeks ago for a $20 Amazon gift card. Ethan used to use Similac but now he uses Enfamil. The Similac had no value to me anymore, but I wanted to buy him a Sophie off of Amazon so it was like he pretty much got a free toy.

This is how I look at things when I trade checks.
