Trouble TTC

side effects after stopping Clomid

I was on Clomid days 3-7.  Last pill was on Saturday.  I felt fine while taking it and today I feel terrible. Are side effects after the fact normal?  I am so bloated and peeing every 40 minutes.  I am being monitored but my next u/s appointment isn't until Wednesday.  Should I move up my appointment or is this normal?  TIA

Re: side effects after stopping Clomid

  • The bloated part is absolutely normal.  I felt like my ovaries and my entire abdomen were sore and it got worse as my cycle progressed.  I felt like that meant the meds were working.  I've never heard of needing to pee alot from  Clomid but maybe some of the other ladies can chime in.  I felt like all my side affects were gone by the time AF came.

After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
    No heartbeat at 10w6d
    FET August 27,2012 = BFP!

  • That is a normal feeling. I felt the same way, but worse. Felt like my entire abdomen was bloated, heavy, sore, and I did pee a lot too.

This, I was CD4-8, but that doesn't matter much.  The bloating may just make you feel like you need to pee more often.

  • I was bloated for a while afterwards, too.  I think my rings and shoes were tight, too.  It probably wouldn't hurt to call your doctor or nurse if you're still concerned, though.
  • All of this sounds totally normal to me.  Well, except maybe for the peeing part but I agree with PP that maybe the bloat is making you feel the need to visit the bathroom.  I personally am diabetic so I pee like once an hour anyway.  But the side effects not only lasted until O and past.  But the cycle after clomid - I'd had more intense O pains then normal.

  • This sounds pretty normal. The bloating was a big side effect I felt. My side effects only lasted until one or two days post O. I hope your appointment goes well this week.
