My hometown, where I am staying this summer, is under mandatory evacuation due to a forest fire. It started yesterday and has already burned over 50,000 acres (65 square miles). We are out safely, but keep the town in your prayers. We lost over 300 homes here 10 years ago in a fire. No fun!!

    sorry to hear that!!!!  I remember that fire 10 years ago.  I am in So. FL and I have been waking up to smoke a lot in the past few weeks.  Thoughts and prayers!!!

    Yes. Los Alamos, NM. We are staying about half an hour away...with our dog, 2 cats, our neighbor's 2 dogs (we were housesitting) and my aunt's 4 dogs. Phew!!

    Wow! I have been watching it all on KOB since 5 and I can't believe how big it has gotten. I feel so bad that everyone is having to go through this again! Stay Safe.
