I feel kind of bad about this; but it also sounds kind of nice.
We took the kids up to Lake Geneva WI this past weekend & it was a nightmare. We've traveled w/ them before (up to 9 hours in a car) and it was fine. BUT Jackson is cutting 4 teeth at once! He's miserable and he screamed the entire time. Amber didn't have much fun because we had to leave the beach after 30 min. 'cause of how miserable Jack was and the trip basically involved us paying way more attention to him because he also wasn't sleeping from hurting (and nothing was working to help relieve the pain) so he was just crabby and screaming and from one thing to the next. We even gave up & came home early on Sunday.
This weekend we're going for 2 nights, 3 days down to southern IL to visit my family and go to the childrens museum, zoo and lake and we're a little concerned about jackson being miserable and MIL just offered to take him for the weekend and told us to take Amber and have a good time.
I feel bad leaving one behind. He's missing out on all the fun stuff, but on the other side, now Amber can actually have one on one time since she hasn't since Jack was born and she can really enjoy herself. I know MIL will take Jack to the zoo and the choo choo diner while we're gone so he'll have fun too and we're coming home at lunch time on the 4th and taking both kids to see the fireworks close to home.
Would you feel bad?
Would you leave one behind considering the situation? I'm so on the fence about this.
Re: Leaving one behind?
I would feel guilty too, and I don think we would have a good time. I think DS would wonder where DD was and not have the best time bc of that.
If it were me I would bring some motrin and hope he cuts those teeth soon!
