NBR: Need Bridal Shower ideas

If you're bored .. help me plan! :)

Since there are so many awesome party planners here .. I thought I'd get some advice for planning my BFFs Bridal Shower.  I am planning a "Greek"/Honeymoon theme since they are going on a cruise of the Greek Isles for their honeymoon.

I have some food ideas .. but I thought I'd look to you guys for travel themed decor/favor/game and prize ideas! I might do luggage tags as favors with some Jordan almonds ...but other than that I'm not sure what we want to do.

Also .. what are your favorite/least favorite games to play?? TIA!!

Re: NBR: Need Bridal Shower ideas

  • How fun, I love showers that incorporate the honeymoon theme.  I threw one for a friend with a French theme for that same reason, it's fun to let the bride focus on life AFTER the wedding.  :)

While I was reading your post the idea of a Greek luxury yacht came to mind, like the Christina O?  There are lots of pics of it here:

It might be fun to have a stately, luxury cruise kind of feel to the shower.  I love the colors in the pics - like the navy blue and kind of a soft buttery yellow would make a great color scheme, maybe touches of white like fresh white floral centerpieces so it looks crisp and elegant.  It'd be something different for sure.  You could have signs that label the different "deck" areas of the shower, like the dining room, games room, bar (a sigature nautical named cocktail would be awesome!).  I'd bring the Greek aspect out a lot with the food, maybe see if there's a Greek restaurant in your area that could help with catering or appetizers.  Trader Joe's has frozen spanikopita that's pretty good.

That's just what popped to mind first.  As far as games go, that really depends on the bride.  I had a few at my shower and they were okay, I wouldn't have minded not doing any.  I think we had to find clothespins in a bowl of rice and there was a trivia test the guests had to play about me.
