Not that Im complaining, its actually nice not having a period for almost 2 years. But I really want to try for baby #2. yes I know you can still get pregnant. but I was wondering when AF came for you guys?
Did you get pregnant before AF came?
DS is on solids 3 times a day now and I still breastfeed him 5-6 times a day.
thanks.
Re: When did AF come back?
Short answer...I had to wean at 16 months in order for AF to arrive. 6 days after weaning...BAM...she was there...just in time for my beach vaca.
DS was nursing 5x per day at 12 months, and I dropped one session per month after that, hoping that would spark AF's return so that I wouldn't have to wean in order to get pregnant again. No such "luck." My fertility did not return until I weaned...and it took us 3 months to get pregnant with #2. So, although you "can" get pregnant while nursing...I certainly couldn't.
Good Luck!

I haven't had a period in 4 years - yay me! hee hee hee.
Seriously though, I nightweaned DS1 around 20 months, but hadn't gotten my period back after that, and I got pregnant when he was 22/23 months. I happened to ovulate when we decided to start trying, but before I started my period again. I think he was nursing about 3 times a day, but really short sessions.
It definitely just depends on your body. Part of getting your period back is dependent on how much your baby nurses not only over 24 hour periods, but how much they nurse at night. I wouldn't nightwean an eight-month-old, but you could try cutting back sessions if he's nursing a few times overnight to see if you starting menstrating again.
