If LO sleeps in a pnp

What are you doing when they hit the weight limit for the bassinet part? Graco's limit is 15 lbs and DS will be there really soon. He sleeps in a pnp right next to my bed now and that's where he naps and plays in the living room. He LOVES it and loves the bar with all his toys strapped on it. :( The bottom does not seem comfortable/safe for sleeping. You can feel the bars all criss-crossed and I don't think I could even reach him. We can't keep him in bed because of DH sleeping so heavy. I don't think there's room for the crib in the room. I really don't want to have to transition him to the nursery already because he's not consistently sleeping through the night and it's just so much easier for me when he gets up. Plus, I just plain like having him right next to me for now still.

  • DD was small so I don't think we will come across this problem personally, but perhaps you can find an inexpensive mini crib that will fit in your room?

I put a really soft cushinie blanket under the crib sheet for Olivia, when she gets too heavy for the bassinet part I will just do the same thing.

  • My niece slept on the bottom part of her pnp all the time and never seemed to mind. Audrey will be going into her room once she gets too heavy for it.. she's sttn and napping well in her crib during the day so I think she'll be fine *crosses fingers*.

  • We grew out of the bassinet last week.  At his 2 month appointment DS weighed 14 lbs 15.5oz, I thought we could make it to 3 months, but nope.  We are moving in July so we really want to avoid setting up our crib.  He still doesn't sttn either.  So he is sleeping in the bottom part of the pnp.  He did pretty good and last night he slept in there for 4hrs straight (tied his record).

  • I was just wondering this same thing this morning!  I am guessing we will try the bottom of the pnp too but I am hoping it's not too much of a pain to get her in and out when it's a lot lower.  My back tends to hurt and I'm guessing a lot of this might now help...
