Re: Weekly Menus

  • I defrosted ground beef the the other day and didn't cook it so I will probably make beef stroganoff with meatballs tomorrow. Other than that I have no idea lol.

  • We got some grass-fed meat at the farmers market this weekend, so tonight is skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and grilled corn.

The rest of the week: grilled pork chops with Spanish rice and asparagus (all made on the grill).  Grill pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.  Buffalo shrimp one night with homemade blue cheese yogurt sauce and our nightly salad, we make a different one every night.

  • Rice on the grill? how long does it take?

  • Tonight we will be grilling chicken and veggies, but not sure for the rest of the week.  I will be traveling for work, so it will be struggling to eat healthy at restaurants, and hoping the DH is not hitting McDonalds too much!

  • Tonight: Dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant then on to a baseball game.

    Tomorrow: 3rd Anniversary Dinner out!

Wednesday: Hot Dogs and Mac & Cheese

Thursday: Hawaiian Bread Sandwiches (ham, turkey, salami and cheese on Hawaiian Bread Buns heated in the over until safe temp)  Easy and absolutely delish!

    Friday: Hamburgers on the grill!

PPs menus look a lot more complex and appealing than mine.  I should start venturing out of my comfort-zone and try new things!  Thanks for the ideas!

Rice on the grill? how long does it take?

It takes about 15 minutes to cook.  I first found this recipe, but we have since made our own since I'd never put ketchup in my rice!

  • We had chili the other night, then chili dogs the next night.

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and frozen peas.  Then open-faced meat loaf sandwiches.  We still have meatloaf, and it's so yummy!

    but tonight..

We're having rigatoni with DH's yummy tomato sauce and mild Italian sausage in it.

Other meals we make a lot are:
    tacos
    stirfry
    soup with chicken and vegetables
ravioli with DH's yummy tomato sauce (ravioli from the frozen foods section)
yellow rice, black beans, peas, shredded mojo pork
    beef stew
    pork chops
    steak
    ribs

Nothing fancy (or very healthy) at our house!
