Less baby fever as they approach 1?

Everyone tells me that my baby fever would hit an all time high around their first birthday.  But in reality, this couldn't be further from the truth.

I was asking my OB when I could start cycling again at my 2 week pp appointment.  I desperately wanted another baby and felt that our family wasn't complete yet.  Now that the boys are a month away from turning one, I'm actually becoming more and more ambivalent about the idea.  I don't romantize those early days at all and not getting any sleep sucked.  I love how fun the boys are now and STTN is just simply devine.

Am I the only one?  I'm set to do an FET at the end of the summer too....

    My baby fever didn't really start until DS turned about 18 months when he started becoming much more "little boy" as opposed to "baby" and I found myself reminiscing about that first year!

    Mine is picking up, but I still alternate day to day between panic about thinking about a second and desperately wanting one.  I think within 6 months I will peak ;)  but, that is probably just about the time that he turns into a wildly opinionated toddler and we decide that one is enough Stick out tongue

    Ummm, no ;-)

    Well, that's not entirely true.  I decided, when she was 12 months, that I was going back to the gym and going on a diet...and that we were going to stop worrying so much about #2, but still having appropriatley timed unprotected sex (as well as sex anytime we wanted to, just for funsies, lol).

    You know the rest of the story ;-)

    At about 6 months, i desperatly wanted a second. That lasred until about a year. Around 18 months, we decided we might not pursue #2 due to finances.

    My baby fever started around 10 months, then it went away around 13 months and then it came back around 18 months. It depends on the days and how good my boys were being that day :)

    I was the same as you, but I attribute a lot of my early baby fever to all the craziness surrounding DD1's birth...from having an emergency C-section to her being in the NICU and being born prematurely, I think at some level I wanted a "do-over", and I missed having my baby inside, where she belonged. So I definitely had baby fever after DD was born (it was worse once she started STTN, and she did that young), then it leveled out after she started walking. We started cycling again when she was about 10 or 11 mos old and by the time we got pregnant again, she was 15 mos old and I was actually starting to lose the baby fever. I'm glad we stuck with our plan, and happy to be pregnant again, but yes, I did feel like my baby fever became less intense after she hit 1 yr/mobility.
