Sorta BF related...if you had a second wedding...

Just curious what it was like. We never dream we will have to have a second wedding so to me, the dream isnt as there as it was before, however that hasnt stopped me from getting all giddy about the thought of the dress, ect. So if you had one, how was it? My first one was the fairy tale wedding and Im thinking smaller and intimate but super cool venue to highlight its uniqueness and its also his first, but hes not one to fuss over it.

My second wedding was DH's first, so we did want to do something nice. We had a small (~25 people) ceremony in a very pretty, intimate setting. Because we went so small, we were able to do exactly what we wanted with food, flowers, etc. It was really lovely, and there isn't anything I would have changed.

Honestly, I don't think I would have one... I would want to go away somewhere nice and get married. I didnt want a huge fancy schmancy one to begin with, but did. But I hope there never is a next one, other than maybe vow renewals!!

My first was dh's second. We got married with just us and the kids on the beach (about 4 hours away from our house). We then made it a family vacation for the kids. 2months later we had a great reception locally with about 50 friends and family. We spent about $2k for everything including my dress. We are very happy with the way we did things.

DH didn't have a wedding with his ex-wife. It was my first, but we opted to have a very small, intimate ceremony. The entire thing only cost about $300, including food and everything. We got finger food trays from a local grocery store, and my dress was a simple white sundress from a store here (only $16!). Our venue was free. We had no music for anything. We had a small outdoor ceremony at the gazebo of a local college. Our reception was more like a small get-together for everyone after the ceremony (also at the college). We did not have to spend nay money decorating because the college is already beautifully landscaped, and even the room where we had the reception inside had previously been decorated with beautiful flowers and a stage with white lights and ivy tresses from another event. They were more than happy to let us use the left over decorations as long as we cleaned it up. My bouquet, Sd's flower basket, and DH's boutineer were made of cheap in-season flowers (mostly Gerbera daisies) of assorted available colors. The pastor that married us provided the service for free, and even did it on a Sunday for us.

It was simple, small, and just our budget. If I had been able to have my dream wedding, I might have opted for that. But we are planning on having an all out vow-renewal in 10 years or so when my dad is home so that he can participate. That was the main thing holding back from going any more extravagant.

I was engaged before DH so I already planned a wedding even though I didn't get married. DH was married before but they didn't have a wedding. DH wanted his friends and family there this time. My mother also wanted us to have a "real" wedding. I didn't really care. We had our wedding at a historic chapel and our reception at a winery. We obviously had wine and then for food we had meat and cheese trays, fruit trays, and veggie trays. I didn't want anything big at all and insisted that the guest list stay under 50 people. Our wedding was on a Wednesday to work around our then C/O so only about 30 people were there. Everything was very nice but also very low key. I would say we spent less than 5K for everything including all the clothes for DH, me, SS, SD, DS, rings, music, photos, everything but the honeymoon.

We wanted to do a destination wedding but with SD the logistics were just not working. I wanted a wedding more than he did (a second marriage for both of us) because this is the marriage we both should have always had and I didn't want us cheated out of the memories of it. We ended up doing a smallish (50 people) wedding and reception at a local hotel. It was elegant and wonderful and SD got to be part of the ceremony and danced her butt off at the reception. It ended up being a great party with our friends and family. And then we got to go away on an amazing honeymoon. Paradise

My second, his first. We had about 60 guests at a cool restaurant had the wedding and reception there. I wore a short wedding dress and my DS walked me down the aisle to Pearl Jam "Just Breathe". My DD was a bridesmaid. We had a sand cermony to show the blending of our family. And we walked out to the receiveing line to Dave Matthew's Band "You and Me"

I had a really trendy hipster type of wedding w/ the haute couture type photos.
